Past, Present, and Future

The ILEU History

First recognized by the NLRB in 1944, then incorporated as the Standard Oil Development Company Employees Union in 1954, the Independent Laboratory Employees’ Union is a small, independent, labor union. We Represent the FLSA covered workers at the ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering Co., located in Annandale, NJ.

Through the ILEU, workers maintain the right to bargain collectively through representatives of their own choosing, as a means of securing better terms and conditions of employment. Additionally, the ILEU promotes the social, intellectual and material welfare and advancement of our members.
